This website is run by Mohammed Hanafi (Alks Systems), Plot 15A Block H, Akurem-Kumasi. Ghana. This page explains what personal information the site collects, why, and what choices you have. You can contact me at hanafim58@gmail.com about anything on this page.

Information you send me

  • Contact form: your name, email address, subject and message. I use it only to read and reply to your message.
  • Newsletter form: your email address. I use it to send you new articles from this site.
  • WhatsApp: the buttons on the Services page open a chat with me on WhatsApp. Anything you send there is handled by WhatsApp under its own privacy policy.

The two forms on this site are collected and stored by Netlify, the company that hosts the website. I keep messages and email addresses only as long as needed for the purpose above, and I delete them when you ask.

Analytics and cookies

  • Google Analytics sets cookies to count visits and see which pages are read. It only runs if you press Accept in the cookie banner. If you decline, it does not load. You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings in the footer.
  • Cloudflare Web Analytics measures page views without cookies and without tracking you across other websites.

Your choice is remembered in your browser (local storage), not on my servers.

Other services this site uses

To display pages, your browser connects to the companies below, which can see your IP address and browser details when it does:

  • Netlify hosts the website.
  • Google Fonts supplies the text font.
  • Cloudflare (cdnjs), jsDelivr and jQuery CDN supply icons and page scripts.
  • YouTube supplies video thumbnails on the Videos page. A video player is only loaded when you choose to play a video, or on an article that has a video embedded in it. Embedded videos use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode.

The share buttons under articles are plain links. They send nothing to social networks unless you click them.

Advertising

This site shows ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can manage this in the consent message shown to visitors in Europe, and you can opt out of personalised ads at adssettings.google.com. You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Your rights

You can ask me to show you the personal information I hold about you, correct it, or delete it, by emailing hanafim58@gmail.com. These rights are protected by Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) and by similar laws in other countries. If you are not happy with how your information is handled you can also complain to the Data Protection Commission of Ghana.

Children

This website is not aimed at children, and I do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this page

If how the site handles information changes, I will update this page and the date at the top.
